The newest business at 207 Bridge Street is more than ink and needles. It’s an art studio focused on elements that typically aren’t seen in the same space. The shop opened Friday, December 2, and is the latest addition to downtown Phoenixville. Here is what you need to know about Ravensgate.

Ravensgate: Art Studio

The website provides an extensive history of the owners Jordan and John Cunningham. To keep things short and sweet–the couple founded Ravensgate to be an art-centric shop highlighting their work and art in the Phoenixville community.

Jordan is a tattoo artist. According to the site, her style focuses on magic, fantasy, and folklore. She specializes in blackwork, single-need tattooing, illustrative portraits, and Celtic knotwork.

Johnathan is a leather craftsman. He creates small personal keyrings, bi-folds, tote bags, and more. The site goes into detail about the leather used in making the goods. “We only ever use full-grain, vegetable-tanned leather in our products. We primarily work with leather from the Badalassi Carlo tannery in Tuscany, Italy. Using traditional, ethical, environmentally-friendly methods, they produce some of the finest leather in the world. We don’t demand anything less than this level of quality for the leather goods we produce.”

The duo wants to create a space to display local artwork and encourage all artists in the area.

If you’re curious, Instagram is the best place to find their artwork.
