Traveling to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, is like a time machine. Tourists find the rolling plains, traditional barns, and Dutch history to be a break from the grind of the 21st century. The county is home to the Amish community, which is also known for making amazing food like Shoofly Pie and Chicken Pot Pie. Despite the millions of visitors flocking to the county’s PA Dutch experience, there are countless gems across the area. A secret oasis is Kyma, a seafood restaurant in northern Lancaster County.

One thing that makes this seafood restaurant special is its identity. According to an article from 2015, Kyma is named after the Greek word “wave,” which helps it stick out amongst its neighboring Pennsylvania Dutch businesses.

It is positioned along the busy highway of Route 272 in an area that is notorious for antiquing. If you travel a few minutes in either direction, you’re bound to hit bustling boutique shops.

Inside the business, images of Greece are placed around the walls, and the meander art borders the glass panels from the bar to the entrance. It’s an homage to Greece–where fresh seafood is found on every corner. At Kyma, the entire menu features dishes that will have seafood enthusiasts in awe.
