Kids these days don’t know what it’s like to drop coins into a machine to play a video game. The gaming world has evolved from joysticks and flashing lights to life-like graphics and virtual reality headsets. Yet, the craving for a classic arcade game still exists in our nostalgic society. For Phoenixville native Clint Weiler, the goal is to bring an arcade and brewery to town.

Fun Dungeon: Brewcade and Billiards

Weiler launched a Kickstarter to assist in funding his idea for Fun Dungeon: Brewcade and Billiards. The Patch first reported in early December that the proposal was initiated at a Phoenixville council meeting.

The Fun Dungeon’s Kickstarter gives supporters an idea of what is coming to 119 Main Street–the former home of the Moose Lodge.

“Coming early 2023 to downtown Phoenixville is a medieval-themed brewery and all-you-can-play amusement buffet featuring 30+ old school arcade games, pinball machines, pool, darts, table games, classic console gaming lounges, and so much more.”

The satirical crowdfunding video encourages supporters to help offset the cost of retro gaming maintenance, a brewery license, and basement renovations. If you support the Fun Dungeon you will be gifted with swag, which the business considers “treasure.”

The location on 119 Main Street is below The Soundbank and provides a convenient walk to other downtown restaurants and shops. The renovations are underway and as of January 9, the stone floor treatment is complete.

You can see the updates to the historic building on the Fun Dungeon’s Instagram and Facebook.
