VegFest Returns to Reeves Park

Phoenixville has turned into a diverse town, rich in vegan-friendly food. Those looking to find options for their vegan lifestyle can find a comprehensive list written earlier this year by bizcolumnist.com. Even if you’re not a vegan, you can find tasty meat alternatives across the downtown area–or a short drive away. Although there is an array of choices in Phoenixville, there is an annual festival called “VegFest” slated for Aug 13.

Phoenixville VegFest

On Aug 13 from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Phoenixville VegFest will be taking over Reeves Park. According to the Facebook page, you can experience vegan food, live music, and vendors promoting healthy, sustainable, and compassionate living. The event is free admission for all attendees.

The festival benefits the Peace Advocacy Network, which has a “mission of Peace Advocacy Network (PAN) is to promote a peaceful existence through veganism, social justice, and respect for the Earth’s inhabitants and resources.”

If you’re downtown during the day of the festival, you can find vegan menus at participating businesses. An easy way to identify a business offering a vegan menu is by checking for the “Phoenixville VegFest” sign in the window.

Leading up to the day of the festival, 7 area businesses are supporting PAN by participating in the Phoenixville VegFest restaurant week. If you’re dining at one of the businesses, a percentage of your proceeds will go to the Peace Advocacy Network. Restaurant week starts on Aug 5 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Greyhound Cafe in Malvern.

Here is the full list of restaurants donating proceeds to PAN:

  • Greyhound Cafe
  • iCreate Cafe
  • Great American Pub
  • Root Down Brewing Company
  • Tai Me Up
  • Uncle B’s BBQ
  • Steel City Coffeehouse

If you’re interested in coming to the Phoenixville VegFest, check out more details on the website. In case of bad weather, the rain date is scheduled for the following day (Aug 14).
