Beds, Costumes, and Racing: Here’s the Scoop on the 5th Annual Phoenixville Bed Races

Phoenixville Bed Races Coaster

Before you set your drink down on a coaster at a Phoenixville business, take a moment to scan the QR code and learn about its importance. The coasters are to promote this year’s 5th annual Phoenixville Bed Races. If you’re not familiar with the bed races, it’s an event focused on raising awareness for people experiencing homelessness in the Phoenixville area.

The proceeds of the event are tied to 2 Phoenixville organizations that provide shelter for the homeless—Ann’s Heart and Good Samaritan Services. It’s a fun race where people build, decorate, and race beds down Second Avenue next to Reeves Park.

If you want to participate in this year’s bed race, you still have a chance to register online at pxvbedraces.org. According to the site, bed registration is $50, and participants are responsible for raising funds through family, friends, and the community.

Tip: you might even want to ask a Phoenixville business to sponsor your bed!

Race day is on November 5, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The following prizes are being awarded:

  • Fastest Bed
  • Best Team Theme
  • Most Funds Raised

Be on the lookout for other fun activities happening throughout the race. Mayor Peter Urscheler is expected to be the race flag man!

So if you’re at one of the Phoenixville businesses using these coasters to promote the event, visit the site and support a local bed.
