Tis’ the season for great weather, straight shots, and cold beer. Well, maybe not straight shots, but you get the point. It’s time to relax with your friends and family on the manicured properties of your local links. If you’re looking to stay close, try these 10 public golf courses near Phoenixville.

1. Pickering Valley Golf Club

This beautiful 18-hole public golf course is located at 450 S. Whitehorse Road in Phoenixville. It’s an easy drive from downtown and surrounding areas.

According to the site, it has a natural turf driving range and putting green.

2. Kimberton Golf Club

KGC opened in 1962 and was designed by George Fazio. It’s located at 162 Ridge Road and a short drive from downtown PXV.

It also has a newly renovated bar and grill called the Roundhouse.

3. Raven’s Claw Golf Club

According to the site, “The course is ranked in the Top 10 in Pennsylvania by Golfweek magazine and on the Top New Courses in the United States by Golf Digest magazine 8 years running.”

This par-71 course in Pottstown features over 6,700 yards from the black tees.

4. Spring Hollow Golf Club

Spring Hollow used to be a dairy farm until it was created and designed by John Thompson. Located in Spring City, you can golf on this par-70 6,000-yard course.

5. Bella Vista Golf Course

This Gilbertsville golf course opened in 2002 and features a 6,400-yard, par-70 design by Jim Blaukovitch.

You may know this course for the La Massaria, which is a premiere event venue in northern Montgomery County.

6. Lederach Golf Club

This course in Harleysville has tee lengths that vary from 2,800 to over 7,000. The site describes the links as a “classic golf course designed in the golden era.”

7. The Club at Shannondell

This club is located near Valley Forge Park in Audubon and was formerly known as the George Washington Golf Course.

Included in the club is “…a new seasonal outdoor swim center, Chadwick’s Restaurant & Bar and turnkey banquet facilities that can accommodate close to 200 guests…”

8. Skippack Golf Club at Evansburg State Park

This older course has its charm. It opened in 1960 and was redesigned in 1988. It spans 5790 yards with a par of 70.

“This course features small undulating greens that are hard to hit in regulation, making it a great place to practice and hone your chip shots.”

9. Linfield National Golf Club

Located in Linfield, this course’s biggest draw is its unique layout. The links span over 6,100 yards. From junior skill levels to seasoned professionals, there are tons of opportunities at LNGC.

10. Landis Creek Golf Club

Formerly known as Limerick Golf Club, the Landis Creek Golf Club rebranded in 2014 under new ownership. Many improvements have been made to the course thanks to the ground superintendent.

Just over 6,000 yards this par 69 course is a great family-friendly place for all ages and skill levels.
