This mid-summer blog calls for a DJ scratch and the popping of a needle-dropping on a vinyl. Rewind to your childhood and sink into the memories of your favorite ice cream treat. Think of the checkered floors and the fluorescent displays of colorful dairy delights. It’s something we all can relate to. If you’re feeling the heat this summer, take a drive down to this Birdsboro Ice Cream Shop that makes it feel like you’re stepping back into the 1950s.

Scoupe deVille

The ice cream shop is called “Scoupe deVille” located along Rt. 724 in Birdsboro, Pennsylvania. The shop pays homage to the classic Cadillac deVille–a mid-century hot rod with a V8 engine and a sleek, winged frame that could turn anyone’s head.

Speaking of turning heads, you can’t miss this vintage-inspired business’ electric blue and neon pink lights. There’s even a Cadillac deVille parked out front.

Everything about the establishment screams throwback. From the menu to the decor, you’re traveling back in time.

You can get desserts like hand-dipped ice cream, gelati, milkshakes, and more! You can view the delectable menu here.

Competitive eaters, try the Fat Elvis ice cream challenge. It’s 10 scoops, 7 toppings, whipped cream, a brownie, a banana, and cherries. If you don’t yak before it’s done, the challenge is FREE.

It’s truly an iconic spot in an area lacking small businesses, mainly due to its rural location. However, it provides a sweet oasis for recreational enthusiasts around the corner at the Schuylkill Canal.

For those living down Rt. 422 stop at their brand new location at 460 N. Lewis Road in Royersford, which opened in Spring 2024.
