When Does Bridge Street Close?

Since 2020, Phoenixville has closed off Bridge Street during the summer months. Amidst the global pandemic, the state put limitations on the inside capacity of restaurants. With the regulations in place, Phoenixville wanted to keep the town thriving and decided to close the street to give small businesses the opportunity to expand their outside seating. Today, the closure continues and has become an annual tradition known as “PXV Inside Out.”

The PXV Inside Out Open Air Experience

This year, the 100 and 200 block of Bridge Street closes on May 26. Every weekend from May 26 to October 9 the street will be closed from 2:00 p.m. Friday through 7:00 a.m. on Monday.

Within the closed areas of Bridge Street, restaurants can have outdoor seating and businesses can have sidewalk stands. If you visit for the first time, you’ll experience tons of food, drinks, music, and community events. As a bonus, you are permitted to have open containers within the closed blocks!

It’s important to remember that during this time that Main and Gay Streets will remain open. That means if you’re on Bridge Street, take a stroll and visit the open shops that don’t benefit from the closure. There are plenty of gems outside of Phoenixville’s “Main” street.

The road will be closed so make sure you plan ahead for parking. The borough has a map with all the available on Instagram. Additionally, the borough just opened a new lot on Church Street. You can visit the borough website for all available information on PXV Inside Out.
